What does "DRINK NOW" mean?

I am always intrigued by the rating "drink now." Is that like in "today," "tomorrow," "this year," "next year" maybe?

Strictly speaking, "drink now" isn´t a rating; it´s a recommended drink window that means that the reviewer feels this wine will not benefit from additional cellaring. That´s not to say it´s undrinkable after the review appearsa€”many "drink now" wines will taste great even several years later. It may not get worse, but we just don´t expect it to get any better. Regardless, your decisions about when to drink a wine should be based first and foremost on your own taste preferences.

If you know you prefer your wines with a little more bottle age on them, or if your experience with the producer or vineyard in question differs from ours, follow your own palate, always.
