As early as in 2001, Ainsworth and Snelson was founded with the fundamental desire—just to make elegant varietal wines that expressed their region with grace and fervour, which now be described as ‘handcrafted wines of true regional expression’, that WE love to drink. This was as a result of Brett’s lengthy experiences, touring and working in vineyards of Europe and Latin America. These wines are, to some, redolent of a bygone era—to others they represent a New Generation of ‘low intervention’ winesAinsworth and Snelson wines are a refreshing counterpoint to the trend of increasingly brutal wine styles, which have too often been seen as the definitive ‘Australian style’.
