Quarisa Wines was established by John and Josephine Quarisa (plus their three young children).John Quarisa has had a distinguished career as a winemaker spanning 22 years, working for some of Australia’s largest wineries including MsWilliam’s, Casella and Nugan Estate.He was also chiefly responsible for winning the Jimmy Watson Trophy in 2004(Melbourne) and the Stodart Trophy(Adelaide).In a busman’s holiday venture, they have set up a small family business using grapes from various parts of Australia and made in leased space. After a slightly uncertain start, the current releases offer exemplary value for money, and it is no surprise that one of the leading national distributors, Domaine Wine Shippers, has taken on the brand.
